Turnout is excited to introduce you to a new member of our label family! Imaginary Cities hail from Winnipeg, MB, Canada and formed in late 2009 after a chance meeting between sets at The Cavern. They are quickly becoming one of Canada’s most talked about bands and we expect the same once their record hits the US in March 2012. They are renowned for their instantly captivating songs and Marti’s unique and beautiful vocals.  They have previously toured with the reunited Pixies  and as of March they will be doing their first headlining tour of Europe.

Australian Music Prize winners Cloud Control have joined up with Turnout!  Cloud Control’s debut album Bliss Release, was released in the UK and Europe in May to critical acclaim. Turnout will be releasing the album on November 22, 2011 in the U.S.

The Guardian’s review gave Bliss Release four stars: “There’s an appealing open-heartedness about the debut from Australian psychedelic poppers Cloud Control, a sense of wide-eyed, slightly fried wonder.”

The BBC’s review said: “Essentially, this is some of the most consistent songwriting to come from Australia since the loss of The Go-Betweens, and some of the most arcane performing available anywhere outside of Arcade Fire.”
